What was the Black Death? When was the Great Plague?

One of the best sites for history information is the BBC, to get to their information on the Black Death, follow these steps:

1. Open the BBC history site
2. Go to British history
3. Go to Middle Ages
4. Scroll down to The Black Death - there are many articles on the topic.

There was also the Great Plague of the 17th century. Channel4 has a good  site on the Plague. There are also a couple of good links about Eyam, a village which isolated itself from the world when the plague arrived, including the Eyam Museum site.
