I need information about the decline of the tuatara population
LEVEL: Primary / Intermediate
The Kiwi Conservation Club site has great factsheets about New Zealand animals and birds. To find the one on tuatara:
- Click on Wildlife and wild places
- Click on Wildlife
- Click on Reptiles and amphibians
- Click on Tuatara
If you are looking for more information check out The Department of Conservation site. To find tuatara:
- Click on Conservation
- Click on Native animals
- Click on Reptiles & frogs
- Click on Tuatara
You might also like to explore Te Ara - the encyclopedia of New Zealand. You can Browse the encyclopedia using the browse boxes in the middle of the front page.
- Start in the box in the middle and click on browse.
- Click on Topics.
- Next select from the second box Reptiles and amphibians.
- From the third box scroll down and select Tuatara.
- This will bring the results for Tuatara into the final box in the Browse area.
- Click on Tuatara from the final box and this will take you to all the information about them from within Te Ara.
Selina recommends the Victoria University Tuatara site - and we have to admit that it's pretty cool!
